Slik Cut Sails and Canvas has been at the forefront of manufacturing sails and canvas in Devon for over 10 years. Current owners Richard and Amanda Shelmerdine (and their helpful golden retrievers Bridget Jones and Treasure) took over almost two years ago and the business has continued to grow from strength to strength.

The dedicated team is also made up of Phil, Pat, Sarah and Jenny who are absolute wizards in making anything out of canvas. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is truly first rate. We have over 30 years of industry expertise and are proud to offer friendly and knowledgeable advice.

We operate on a philosophy is that no job is too small or too complicated.  Located on the beautiful harbour side in Mount Batten in Plymouth we are ideally placed for sailing enthusiasts and boat owners to stop by and have a chat about their all their canvas and sail requirements.

State of the art facilities
We have a fully equipped workshop that has been refurbished to provide extra space to make our custom made marine accessories. We carry out our canvas and sail repairs onsite and can even offer canvas and sail storage.

Our goal is to offer customers a comfortable and warm environment to come in and discuss their ideas and plans, so that everyone gets exactly what they want.

Who we work with
We work on a high referral basis, with many of our private and commercial clients coming from across the South west, including Plymouth, South East Cornwall, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Our ever growing customer base is made up of local private boat and yacht owners as well as clubs and businesses in the marine and leisure industry.
